I've Used Up . .

. . . most of my channels, so a few weeks back I set-up an on-line profile at a free dating site. It's more for amusement than anything else. I'm having fun in sending out the weirdest e-mails I can possibly imagine to see the response they yield. Surprisingly, I'm not doing too bad. Though, I don't think it's my wit, rather, most of the correspondence these girls receive is along the lines of, "ur hawt," or a right-off the bat with no prior introduction, "Do you want to hang out?"

My page notes that my shoes typically match my belt and that Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man is one of my favorite books. She found the belt/shoe thing cute, and went on to say that her mom read her The Illustrated Man when she was a child. I replied

I think the belt matching the shoes is largely a Mexican thing. Same goes for my fondness of Morrisey, and my deep-seeded resentment of all things Puerto Rican.

If I'd read The Illustrated Man as a child, I think I would be a completely different person today. Probably one who is really into rockets and did well in science classes. Still, as a kid hearing about a mother and son who can't step out into the daylight for contempt of the sun that took their patriarch, or a boy in Illinois making a wish on an astronaut burning up as he enters the Earth's atmosphere, has to be intense.

You're a northsider just like me! If you're ever bored, we should go down to the southside and steal their mascot. I live in Uptown/Edgewater/Andersonville. If I'm being vague as to my exact location, that's because you can never be too safe when chatting up strangers on the interweb. I will say that I have been to Town Hall Pub, but I've never had their Bloody Mary. One of my favorite Sunday things is to hit up the Bloody Bary Bar at the Fireside Pub. It's a small out-of-the-way spot on Ravenswood.

I'll do my best to give you some more info about me in 20 words or less. You can try the same if you like.

From Kansas. Depaul. Economics. Boring job. Taxes. Hobbies. jogging. storm chasing. ghost whispering. enjoy. movies. cheese. toast. Oh, wife dead. *

I don't think I've ever met a Caitlin I didn't like. Don't make me make you the exception.

A.v.E

* Most of those aren't true.

We're meeting up later tonight.

This is good for me because
"Relationships Severed Through Telecommunications" is my favorite category of post and I see lots of them in your future.
